Goode Wednesday Morning To You My Friends. Tis a sunny & crisp one here in Vermont. As I settle myself, in my studio, for the busy day ahead I am accompanied by a fresh cup of coffee, a toasted muffin with peanut butter & jam and the sounds of A Martha Stewart Thanksgiving drifting in from the living room television. This last week I've been addicted to watching all manner of Thanksgiving recipe video's on YouTube. There is a wealth of wonderful shows there. I can't get enough. My favorites are from "Entertaining With Beth" "Martha Stewart Living" "Everyday Foods With Sarah Carey" and "Laura In The Kitchen". I make a huge playlist and just let it run, in the background while I am working..I LOVE IT!!! It seems to put me in the perfect frame of mind for all things Autumn and turkey related.
As you may (or may not I suppose) realize...Turkey's are my FAVORITE animals. I just adore them. I find them so very graceful and gorgeous and oh the wonderful sounds they make! I like nothing better than to look out my window and see them foraging, on the edge of our stone walls, wandering through the yard & field or roosting in the woods. All of which, I am ever so thankful to say, happens almost daily. SO...it is only natural that they find their way into my work quite often. This latest design, features a sweet gal who is quite a hurry, l've entitled "Heritage Turkeys". We will be creating this piece during my upcoming October 28th, In-home, Punch Needle Workshop. HERE ARE THE DETAILS;
**Finished photo coming SOON..I promise!!)
Saturday, October 28th
10:00 am to 5:00 pm
On this lovely Autumn day, while the crisp, cold wind blows & smoke wafts from the chimney without, we shall be cozy within, settled by the wood fire with the smell of home baked goods wafting from the kitchen. Â Join us, as we create a lovely Heritage turkey keepsake box. Our punched piece is perfect for Autumn with it's main character being my favorite animal...the wonderful and graceful Turkey. We will be using rich Valdani Autumn colors in browns, creams, oranges and green. We will create this punched piece using a bit of dimensional punching & using one and two strands of floss and our small and medium needle tips. We will also paint, sand & wax a lovely oval paper mache box which we will place our punched piece on top of. Beginner to advanced ~ all are welcome for this class.
**YOU WILL NEED to bring...... your own hoop or frame (14" in size will work wonderfully) and a Cameo Punch Needle with the small & medium needle tips. You may purchase these, should you need to, here in my little corner shop, on the day of the workshop.
