Judge Rivington
~A Fine Quaker Gentleman~
This guy...oh how I LOVE him. He took me forever but he is finally finished!!  Pumpkin~folke hold a special place in my heart..I'm not quite sure what it is about them but I adore them!!

Judge Rivington is done using Valdani perle cotton threads in creams, green, different shades of black and, of course, rich orange.  I've given the piece several areas of dimensional punching to really make the Judge stand out :).  I've then added three layers of wool!!!  One is hand dyed black, the other in a lovely hand dyed green, orange and black tweed and then the back is the solid black again.  I've blanket stitched all three layers using my Valdani threads; orange on the outer, black for the inner.  THEN...I've stitched the entire piece to this wonderful antique pie basket.  Now let me tell you the basket is olde and has wire repairs here and there.  This is how I purchased the basket, I did not add the wire, but I think the whole thing lends an olde, somewhat spooky air to The Judge that I love.  I'm also including the small grass nest that I found in our woods and I've tucked in a few hickory nuts, again, from our woods and a sprig of bittersweet I foraged nearby. :)

The finished punched/wool applique piece measures 15" x 11"
The basket measures 20" x 14"

Will come to you signed, dates and pleasingly packaged :).
